Every time I wear an oversize button down, people always seem to stare at me like I'm wearing a green catsuit or something. Hmm, I wonder?? Anyways, wearing the button-downs is probably one of my favorite things to wear now. They're extremely comfy, breezy, and so easy to wear on a sunny/breezy spring day. This one I'm wearing here is actually my father's. I plan to pick up some of my own from the thrift store, but until then I will borrow his hehe!

Enjoying Spring

In 3 weeks classes will be over. In 3 weeks I will be able to wake up on my own time. In 3 weeks I will be able to blog more. In 3 weeks the start of a great summer will begin. I'm so excited to know that I will be dancing practically all this summer. Most readers on my blog don't know that I'm a dancer. I do mostly ballet and contemporary, but I'm well rounded in every genre. Anyways, back to my STYLE blog, I know I always say that I will update and never get around to it. It's pretty hard balancing school, dance, and blogging. Not saying that I don't enjoy blogging because I do, it's just that I'm the laziest procrastinator known to man.

The Saritorialist...and all of his inspiring photographs.

Every time I visit his website, it's like the inspiration bug comes hovering over me. For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, I am talking about one of the most recognized street style blogs around. It was created by Scott Schuman and he captures street style in various places like New York, Milan, Paris, Stockholm, London, and Florence.

SALTY AIR

I don't know what it is but I have been longing for a turban. It just reminds of spring and like everyone else, I am ready for the warmer weather and the lazy days of summer. Unfortunately, there aren't many stores that sell turbans. Luckily, I was on F21's website and they actually had a turban (photo above). I really like the orange-y, reddish color....but that's the only color they have. Hey, maybe I'll do a DIY turban (floral, pastel colors, shiny fabric...)
What do you guys think?

Fashion Week: Fall 2010 RTW Review PART 1

Mmkay, so here is my review on some of the Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear shows at FW. There are definitely a lot of interesting shows that went on and I thought I would review the shows that I thought were really great and the ones that are not so much in my liking.
-First off, I have No.21's show which is Alessandro Dell Acqua's new collection. It's named after his birthday, December 21st, which is his lucky number. " Crisp poplin skirts, camel trousers, boxy knits..." I really liked the bold platforms that ranged in shades from nude (beige), fuchsia, electric blue, black, and my all-time favorite, burgundy. Also, I really liked the khaki trenches, sharp hemmed sweaters, leopard trench, hot pink trousers, lace tops, and sheer blouses. Overall, I LOVED this collection because all of the pieces can be worn individually, especially as statement pieces.

-Prada RTW: Okay so I was very much dissapointed with Prada's collection. Most of the pieces reminded me of old women who were scratchy knit sweaters and tweeds with cat-eye glasses, though I do like cat-eye glasses. My least favorite pieces would have to be the flared capris, knitted skirts, t-straps with the thick, knit knee-highs. I did like the dresses with the cut-out area under the chest area, and some of the knitted sweaters belted with a slim belt..and the beehives :)

-Lastly, I have Dsquared2's show. Dean and Dan had the models sporting slicked back hair, petite cocktail dresses, bustiers, tight leather gloves that stopped mid-hand, brooches, fur coats in jet black and caramel. I did'nt like the distressed-to-the-extrems top. But all in all, I would rate this collection 2/3 which really isnt bad at all...it's just really from all of the fringed and distressed-ness.

Part 2 NEXT!
